First Vineyard

First Vineyard is the site of the first commercial vineyard and winery in the US. Currently plans for a museum are underway.

Lexington: Take US 27 (Nicholasville Road) south towards Nicholasville and travel along the by-Pass around Nicholasville. Watch for our Blue Tourist Activities sign for SUGAR CREEK RESORT and turn LEFT onto Route 1268. Travel out Route 1268 4.3 miles at that point, 1268 will curve left. DO NOT TURN LEFT - Continue straight ahead onto Sugar Creek Pike. Watch for our White Arrows w/Red Horses painted on trees. Stay on Sugar Creek Pike another 2.1 miles. Keep to the left. Watch for our mailbox after the dead end sign. 5800 - Sugar Creek Resort on the mailbox. Drive up the gravel driveway and continue down the drive until you get to the stable.
