The Lexington Brewing Company was established in 1794. During a 1906 interview, the owner at that time attributed the success of the brewery to “the splendid quality of the limestone water, which has proved the best for making the famous Kentucky whiskeys the finest on earth, is also the best to be used in brewing beers.” With vision, expertise and craftsmanship, our highly accomplished staff of Master Brewers are pleased to present Kentucky Ale, Kentucky Light and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.
Today, the brewery is independently owned and operated by Alltech, a major supplier of yeast and other fermentation products worldwide. Company founder Dr. Pearse Lyons is a yeast biochemist and brewer. Formerly of Dublin, he spent his first summer in college working for the makers of Guiness, Ireland’s most famous export.
Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. is the official beer sponsor of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in 2010.
